Richard has a background in accounting, law and investment banking with a focus on M&A, advisory services, public and private equity raisings, structured finance and commercialisation of technology.

Richard joined Deutsche Bank in 1983 after 6 years at Arthur Andersen & Co. He was responsible for the original development of the R&D syndication structures and was responsible for the completion of 70 transactions totalling in excess of $1.5bn. Richard was a Managing Director and Head of Technology Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank from 1997-2001 and responsible for the completion of $150m in private equity raisings and $400m in M&A assignments. He holds a B.Comm and Bachelor of Laws from UNSW and Master of Laws from the University of Sydney and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
